Teasers, Part V

We're almost done. Just a few more stories to go. For those who like ghosts with a historical element... Haunted Lake by Michelle Athy Paranormal Short Story Kimiko escapes hectic Boston with her boyfriend to a peaceful, waterside retreat in New Hampshire. A chilling brush with the past soon shows Kimiko and Chris why it’s called Haunted Lake. Michelle Athy is a native New Yorker, costume drama addict, and history nerd. She's often found reading. You can find her on her blog, The Sunflower's Scribbles. www.michelleathy.com ### And witches and demons... Soul Coin by Laura Rich Paranormal YA Indira Valaithan is a fifteen-year-old martial artist whose biggest problem is beating the new kid in the annual tournament. When a series of murders involving a rare coin—just like the one she was found with when she was orphaned as a child—take her on a nighttime hunt through Kerala for answers, she only finds more questions and

Teasers, Part IV

Are you getting excited about the anthology? I am! The back cover blurb for FULL DARK  touts "impressive depth and range." These next two stories prove it. They're about as opposite as they can get, yet each is still dark in its own way. Shadows Falling On Rainbows by Celeste Holloway Suspense Short Story Cold, desperate, and on the run, she has nothing to lose until she crosses a stranger’s path, and nothing becomes everything . Celeste Holloway lives in Arkansas, is a mom, a lover of tall tales, and a spinner of word-webs. Celeste is the author of the highly rated YA fantasy Sebastian Falls . www.celholloway.blogspot.com ### Meringue, Murder or Marzipan by Tonja Drecker Paranormal Mystery When several people are found dead with Mariah’s cupcakes in their mouths, she's sure she and her cafe have nothing to do with it. But truth often hides in the shadows . After finishing her BA in International Studies at the Universi

Teasers, Part III

Ooo. More dark twisted tales, just in time for Halloween. I can hardly wait till release day! The Caricature by Nick Wilford Paranormal Flash Fiction (This is another story that would be spoiled by a blurb. All I'll say is it's a creepy, twisted tale that involves a street artist and a tourist.) Nick Wilford is a writer and stay-at-home dad. Once a journalist, he now makes use of those early morning times when the house is quiet to explore the realms of fiction, with a little freelance editing and formatting thrown in. When not working he can usually be found spending time with his family or cleaning something. He is the author of A Change of Mind and Other Stories , a collection featuring a novella and five short stories, four of which were previously published in Writer’s Muse magazine. Part 1 of his YA dystopian trilogy, Black & White , is available now. Nick is also the editor of Overcoming Adversity: An Anthology for Andrew . www.nickwilford.blo

Teasers, Part II

Mm. More suspenseful goodness! Here are the next two stories in FULL DARK ... Taking Care Of You by Carrie Butler Flash Fiction Suspense (Trust me. This story doesn't need any more of a blurb than that. *shivers*) Carrie Butler is an award-winning author and the owner of Forward Authority full-service studio—not to mention an inbound-certified marketer with a penchant for superhero socks and Firefly. Time away from her desk is spent playing with her rescue pup, yelling at the TV during hockey season, and indulging in target-based recreation. Otherwise, you’re likely to find her glued to her chair, discovering new ways to share her daydreams... www.carrieabutler.com ### The Apartment by Lisa Buie-Collard Paranormal Flash Fiction Sometimes your gut feeling is all you have . Lisa Buie-Collard's novel Evangeline’s Miracle won first place in the Mystery category of the Royal Palm Literary Award, sponsored by the Florida Writers Assoc

Tease me, baby

That post title was a bold, self-serving hook, I know. But I AM going to tease you - every day from now till MONDAY! Ten talented authors joined me to produce the FULL DARK anthology. I want to showcase their work, but if I save it all for Monday, the release day post will be a mile long! So here goes. Enjoy! Just A Matter Of Time by Loni Townsend Paranormal Short Story (Loni had to nix the blurb, because it would give too much away. Good thing, because you don't want any spoilers for this. Wowza!) Loni Townsend - Wife. Mother. Writer. Ninja. Squirrel. By day, she writes code. By predawn darkness, she writes fantasies. All other times, she writes in her head. People call her peculiar with a twisted sense of fashion, but don't let those understatements fool you. Her behavior is perfectly normal for a squirrel disguised as a human. That's part of being a ninja--blending in. www.lonitownsend.com ### Forerunner by David Powers King P

FULL DARK is coming

After a humbling, agonizing dry spell, I'm finally publishing again! It might be DARK that's coming, but it's nice to finally glimpse the release-day light!

I'm back

...but not for the reason I thought. Not entirely, at least. Today I came across some sad news. I discovered that writer / blogger Diane Carlisle passed away. I'm heartbroken for her family, and for her. She was a bright professional and a budding author, and she will be missed. There's more to the story.

Good Book, Bad Luck

I've come out of hiding, I mean hiatus, to help a fellow author and blogger.  Many of you know Joylene Nowell Butler. She has a book releasing today, but unfortunately, she can't promote it because she's on the injured list. She'll be okay, but you can imagine how frustrated she must feel over missing her own release party--especially of a book that's an IPPY Silver Medalist!
